Haaland Enthusiastic About ‘Special’ Marmoush After Manchester City Debut

Erling Haaland is eagerly anticipating teaming up with Omar Marmoush, Manchester City’s latest addition, following his impressive debut. Marmoush, who recently joined from Eintracht Frankfurt, showcased his potential during City’s 3-1 victory over Chelsea on Saturday.

Impressive Debut Performance

Marmoush played 74 minutes in his first appearance for City and nearly scored a debut goal, only to be denied by the offside flag. He continued to threaten Chelsea’s defense in the second half, demonstrating why City sought his talents. Haaland, who scored and assisted Phil Foden’s goal, praised his new teammate’s abilities.

“I think especially in the first half you can see he has something special,” Haaland told Sky Sports. “There’s a reason City brought him, because he has something special.”

Integrating Into the Team

Haaland emphasized the importance of integrating Marmoush quickly into the team, highlighting the upcoming crucial matches. “He got straight into the team and it’s about getting to know him as soon as possible because there are so many important games coming,” Haaland said. “It’s about giving him confidence and he’s going to be a fantastic player for us.”

Bundesliga Experience

Like Haaland, Marmoush made his mark in the Bundesliga before moving to Manchester City. The Egyptian international’s dynamic play style promises to bring a new dimension to Guardiola’s attack, with Marmoush making incisive runs to support Haaland.

Noteworthy Work Rate

Marmoush’s work rate against Chelsea was commendable, winning five duels—the highest for any City player apart from Mateo Kovacic. Haaland, reflecting on the experience of being a new player, added, “It’s always nice to have new faces. I’ve been a new player before, trying to come in with a different energy and different personality.”

Outstanding Season at Eintracht Frankfurt

Marmoush enjoyed a stellar first half of the season at Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 15 goals and providing 10 assists in just 17 Bundesliga appearances. Haaland expressed hope that his new teammate can replicate this form at City. “He had an amazing first half of the season for Eintracht Frankfurt and hopefully, he’s going to have the same season with us now for the second half of the season.”
